Traci Lorraine Farmer

I am a Native of North Carolina, currently residing in downtown Raleigh. I studied at the Atlanta College of Art, which is now SCAD in Atlanta, Georgia. My paintings loosely align with modern realism or abstract expressionism, employing rich colors and dynamic spacial relations while pushing the boundaries of contrast in both.

My most recent body of work is titled IndustryIndustry is an evolving process where I have combined my photography with my painting which marry documentaion and the emotion of a place. I have found nastalgia and much beauty in these industrial landscapes. I hope you experience the same.

I paint at SwitchHouse Studio in Boylan Heights where I share space with fellow artists, Jason Craighead, Dave Green, Claire Ashby, Andre Leon Grey, and Patrick Shanahan.

I am also a 4th generation hair stylist and own Crazy Combs Salon. Crazy Combs doubles as an art gallery that supports local artists. If you’re in Raleigh, please join us on First Fridays for the Downtown Art Walk.

I am married with two children, so I stay busy, splitting my time between family, the salon and my art.
